Medieval Anglo-Saxon Ragnvar Viking Handmade Wooden Shield

In the world of Vikings, wooden shields are a key part of each warrior’s protection and each shield is unique—painted in different colors, patterns and motifs. With a solid wood and steel construction our Anglo-Saxon Ragnvar Viking Shield is great for full contact simulated combat in reenactments, plays, or for display. This shield is painted red and blue and sealed to provide protection for the wood and a glossy finish. The boss is sixteen gauge steel, suitable for protecting your hand during practice combat. The handle is riveted to the back comfortably cupping the hand under the boss. Blue and red were popular colors throughout the Viking Age. In general, they all wore colorful clothes with patterns and sewn-on ribbons.
